Using Meditation to Develop Your Mind, Body and Spirit Connection

I'm your host Kara Stein-Conaway and this is The Business Mamas Podcast. The Business Mamas Podcast is made for women who know they should be doing more self-care and practicing more self-love but are overrun with balancing it all. This podcast provides the tools and support you need so you can have a successful career while also being a present and loving mom.

In this new season, which is Season 4 of the podcast, I am sharing with you about my journey with meditation. I'm also sharing a particular meditation in each episode that I love, and that I hope you will love too.

Meditation for me is about discovering that Mind, Body, Spirit connection.

The more that I practice meditation, the more I am able to encounter my feelings in a productive and healthy way.

So when I have a feeling coming up that's an uncomfortable feeling like a stress feeling or a worry feeling, I am able to check in with myself and ask:

(1) Where am I feeling this in my body?

(2) What part of my body is feeling worried?

And when I do that, I can sense where the worry is felt in my body.

Oftentimes, it's in the chest area.

One of the reasons why I am capable of giving myself compassion to feel whatever the feeling is, in that particular place in my body, is because of my practice with meditation.

Meditation for me, is turning out to be a way that I am learning about my body, and about my body's connection to my spirit and my mind.

I am learning how my body can participate in my wellness.

I am learning that my awareness about what I am feeling in my body gives me the ability to choose how to react to that awareness.

This is really fun, interesting, and new for me.

The meditation that I wanted to share with you today has a couple of aspects to it that are really nurturing and supportive for me, so hope you might also find it beneficial for you. The first aspect of this meditation is that it's related to the chakras.

If you are a chakra beginner like me, I think that you'll find this meditation useful in guiding you, and starting to orient you to what the chakras are and how being aware of them can be a benefit to you.

The other aspect of this meditation that I really enjoyed and that definitely resonated with me is that in the end of the meditation, she provides affirmations.

Affirmations are kind messages that you say to yourself to remind yourself of these beautiful, uplifting truths that are sometimes easy to forget.

When you hear affirmations spoken to you, or you speak them to yourself, you can be reminded of their truth and be empowered by that truth.

So, I hope that you find this meditation interesting, something that you can learn from, be inspired by, be nurtured by, and that it can be another tool that you have to help you in taking care of yourself.

This meditation that I am going to link to in the show notes of Episode 33’s podcast episode is called: Unblock Energy - Chakra Meditation and it's by Amanda Sellers. I listened to it on the Insight Timer app. It's in the free meditation section of the app, so you don't have to pay for anything, and you can just click the link and go try it out.

I also developed an affirmations guide with some empowering affirmations that you might like to try out and see if they benefit you. So I will also put a link to download my free Affirmations Guide in the show notes as well.

I am also feeling a sense of wonder, in trying something new as I tried this new meditation and learned something that I hadn't learned before.

I hope that as you try out this meditation or others, that you also feel that sense of wonder, that sense of joy of getting to learn something new, and that sense of freedom that comes with practicing being more present in this one precious life that we get to live.

If you enjoyed Episode 33 and this blog post, I would love it if you shared the blog or the podcast with someone you think could benefit from them. I would also be incredibly grateful if you could leave an honest rating and review of The Business Mamas Podcast on Apple Podcasts as that helps more people find the show and it helps me in sharing this message of practicing self-love and self-care with more people whose lives I know could be enriched by hearing it.
